Picture 2 - My son in his basketball game on February 02, 2008. This is one of the challenging situations I am learning to deal with. The lighting in the gym is horrendous. It has provided me with an opportunity to work on my manual settings, trying to get the shutter speed up as high as possible to "freeze" the action. I've also been trying to do it without use of the flash, though I was using the flash for the picture above. Besides the distraction I think it creates, it negatively impacts my ability to quickly snap off pics while the flash recycles. The other challenge I'm having is the fact that my telephoto lens that I use does not have AF capabilities. I really need to invest in a good AF tele lens.
