So a while back I posted an entry about some of my attempts to start getting into the Bible some more and trying to bring a little more discipline into my life. That effort went well for a while. Not only was I getting up every Wednesday to do a weekly devotional, I had gotten into a pretty good rhythm of ending the day about 10:00 p.m. by retiring to my office and studying my A Guide to Prayer for Ministers and Other Servants. All was going well for about a month and half when Winter Break and the holidays hit and I got totally off schedule. Kind of interesting that it would happen as most "experts" will tell you that once you do something for 30 days or so, it becomes ingrained as a habit.
So January rolled around, and then February rolled around, and I still have not managed to get back into those two. Reading the Prayer Guide has become even more challenging as our Sunday School class has abandoned (which seems like such a strong word, but I'll let it go for now) that and opted instead to work on our chronological reading of the Bible. I suppose that is one good thing to come of this - I've been doing that reading every day. Thus far we've covered Genesis, Job, and Exodus, and we are working through Leviticus.
